Holy Cross Village is an interdependent community energized by Holy Cross spirituality and hospitality, and dedicated to providing a nurturing environment focused on dignity and respect.

Traditional Values Are The Foundation For Spiritual Senior Living

The history of Holy Cross Village at Notre Dame dates back all the way to 1842, when six Holy Cross Brothers and Father Edward Sorin took possession of the land given to them to found a school, the University of Notre Dame.

What began as a ministry to serve others has inspired the Ministry of the Brothers of Holy Cross — sponsors of Holy Cross Village at Notre Dame — to offer a complete retirement lifestyle to meet the demands of today's seniors.

Today, the Brothers remain actively involved with the community. Many, in fact, live at Holy Cross Village, where they frequently mingle and interact with other residents. Learn more about the Brothers' history, teachings and ministry.
